Studio Policies, Info & Fees

Annual Registration & Tuition Policies

Annual Registration Fee:

$25 annual registration fee per dancer, $40 per family (immediate). Non-refundable due at time of registration

Upon online registration, you will select your tuition payment plan for the full 9 month season.
1st tuition payment is due Sept 10th for Monthly and Semi-Annual Plans
Monthly Tuition Payment Plan: Oct – May, monthly tuition payment due by 10th of the month.
Semi annual tuition payment plan, 1st tuition payment due Sept 10th and 2nd payment due Jan 10th.

Tuition late fees:

Monthly tuition plan: $10 late fee
Semi annual tuition plan $20 late fee
Parents have 24/7 access to their accounts via the online portal
Dancers will not be able to participate in class if their account is delinquent for more than 30 days
Credits or make-up classes are not offered if a dancer misses weekly class on their behalf.
If a class is cancelled 3 times during the year due to inclement weather a make-up class will be scheduled. We do not discount or credit monthly tuition due to inclement weather.
Dancers are welcome to attend a makeup class of similar class style and age if their class is cancelled due to inclement weather. A parent must contact the studio at info@dancersinkct.com to arrange this makeup class within 1 week of the inclement weather cancellation of their class.

Class Shoes & Attire

We have required dance shoes (brand/style & color) as well as suggested class attire.

Recital Dancer Participation Fee & Recital Costume Fees

An annual recital is held each year in the spring and all dancers are encouraged to participate.

If your dancer will NOT be participating in the recital, please email info@dancersinkct.com by Dec 1.

Recital 2025 dates:

Dress Rehearsal: Fri, May 23, 2025 at Palmer Auditorium (Connecticut College) New London, CT
Recital: Sat, May 24, 2025 at Palmer Auditorium (Connecticut College) New London, CT

Recital Costume Fees 2024/2025 season *new structure*: (due Dec 18)

NO REFUNDS for costume fees
Costume fees do not include tights. Tights sold via our ONLINE STORE.
Costumes will not be ordered if payment is not due in full by due date.
Late Fees and additional shipping fees will be charged if payment is not received by due date

RECITAL COSTUME FEES:

Combo I ages 3-4 ballet/tap costume fee = $70.00 costume fee (perform 1 dance in recital)
Combo II ages 5-6 ballet/tap, Combo II ages 5-6 jazz/tap and Combo Hip Hop/Tap ages 7-9 costume fee = $100.00 costume fee (perform 2 dances in recital – dancer’s have 2 bottom option with costume so costume is different for each style performed)
All other classes costume fees per dancer/per class enrolled (NOT COMBO): costume fees per dancer/per class enrolled:
- Child costume size XSmall – Child Large = $76.00 per costume per class
- Child costume size Xlarge – Adult XXlarge = $82.00 per costume per class

Recital Layout:

We have 2 shows, morning and afternoon, both held on the same day.

**Please note on 2 show layout**:

Each class performs in 1 show.
Dancers may perform in both shows if enrolled in multiple classes.
Families that have multiple dancers in the studio may be present for both shows as siblings may perform in different shows.
Select Competition routines perform in both shows.

Recital Dancer Participation Fee: (due March 14)

For each dancer participating in the 2025 recital, a $80.00 dancer recital fee is due March 14.
The dancer recital fee assists in venue rental for dress rehearsal, recital day, staffing and each dancer will receive:
- Recital themed t-shirt (recital logo front & cast list on back)
- Digital video link of both shows including all dances performed in each show. Even if your dancer only performed in one show, you will receive a link of both shows.
- Recital Tickets are not included in the recital dancer fee.

Recital Tickets: available for purchase in May (dates TBA)

Tickets are not included in the recital fee and are to be purchased.
Ticket sale dates held in May and accounts must be paid in full before you may purchase & receive your tickets.
No refunds for recital tickets. If a ticket is lost, no substitute will be provided. A new ticket must be purchased at ticket price.
2025 Recital Ticket rates range from $10 – $30 per ticket based on child/adult and attendance of 1 or both shows.

In Studio & Waiting Room Policies

Class Misbehavior:

If a student is misbehaving or being disruptive to the class they will be given 3 warnings. After 3 warnings, the student will be asked to sit in the waiting room and a parent/guardian will be informed.

Class Attendance Policy:

Weekly attendance is for the best learning and growth. If a dancer is absent more than 5 times a dancer may be asked to schedule private lessons (at an additional cost) with the teacher to ensure they are prepared for the recital.

Studio Rules:

Dancer’s should use the bathroom prior to class
Do not enter the studios without a teacher
No gum or food allowed in the studios
No running in the studios
No hanging on ballet barres
No touching the mirrors
Listen and respect the teacher and other dancers in class
WATER ONLY, with dancer’s name on bottle & a closable top
All street shoes must be removed upon entering the studios

Waiting Room Rules:

Dancers and siblings should be supervised by a parent when in waiting room
NO STANDING ON CHAIRS/BENCHES
Dancers in combo classes, we recommend a parent/adult stays in the waiting room during class time or informs the teacher if they will be elsewhere on property
Please pick up your area in the waiting room
Dancers must be picked up within 10 mins of their class end time
- Dancers under the age of 10, a parent should pick up their dancer from the waiting room

Payments & Terms

How to submit payment:

Dancers Ink offers an online portal that accepts Visa or Mastercard.
Cash or check payments may be submitted to the studio prior to the due dates.
Credit Cards are required on file for Auto Tuition Payment plan.
If payment is not received by cash or check to the studio prior to due date, the credit card on file will be charged the account balance.

Payment Due Dates:

All payment due dates are noted in our season calendar and included in the monthly newsletters that is posted to our closed studio page on BAND. A copy of each current month’s newsletter is posted on the studio waiting room board.

Online Payment Policies – terms and conditions

Upon adding a credit card to your online account you will be asked to accept the following terms and conditions:

You acknowledge that you are responsible to make timely payments of balances due on your Dancers Ink account. You further acknowledge that if payment is not received on or before the due date, you authorize Dancers Ink to initiate electronic payments for any balances due on your account PLUS an administrative late fee of $10.00. Should your card be declined an additional $5 charge will be added. Payments will be processed with the payment method/information via your online account that will be kept on-file with Dancers Ink. E-mail notifications will be sent any time a payment is processed if you have not opted out of e-mail communications. You acknowledge that this authorization will remain in effect until you notify the office in writing that the authorization should be terminated. If for whatever reason, payments cannot be processed with the above payment information and you account balance remains overdue, you understand that your enrollment in classes will be cancelled.

Refund Policies:

Dancers Ink does NOT OFFER REFUNDS specifically registration fee refunds, tuition refunds, pro-rated tuition, credit or refunds for class(es) missed due to holiday, vacation, illness, weather, etc, recital costume refunds, competition team fee refunds, competition entry fee refunds, recital fee refunds, or apparel/shoe/tights refunds. If a class is cancelled due to weather, a makeup class may be scheduled by contacting the studio.

Studio Parking

Dancers Ink parking spots are directly in front of our entrance. The dirt/rock lot may be used for overflow parking. Please do not park in any spaces in front of other tenants garage bay doors. We appreciate your cooperation.

Class Cancellation Policies

Postings for class cancellations are made to our Dancers Ink BAND page & website at

3:30 pm for weekday classes

Classes are not necessarily cancelled if Groton Public Schools cancel as conditions may clear by the afternoon.

Make-up classes: If a class is cancelled due to weather and you would like to schedule a make up, email info@dancersinkct.com to schedule a makeup in a similar class style & level the week following the cancellation.

Parent Observation Weeks

Parent observation weeks occur 2 times throughout our dance season. During the last 5 minutes of class, parents are welcome into the studio to observe their dancer in class, take pictures and video record. For combo classes, parents are invited in half way through class and again at the end to observe both styles. Curtains to our studios viewing windows will be open this week for parents to observe the remainder of class from the waiting room.
