Creative Movement & Combo

Mommy/Daddy & Me

 (ages 2-3)

 T’inks Combo I Ballet/Tap

Ballet/Jazz Combo

(ages 7-9)

Introduce your toddler to rhythm and movements with a Mommy/Daddy and Me class. The class is set to music and themes to engage you and your child in basic dance steps in jazz and ballet along with coordination, balance, proper stretching, and counting. Mommy/Daddy and Me classes offer quality one-on-one time for you and your little one. Moms/Dads are present in the studio during the class for encouragement and participation.

Tiny Dancers Ink students (T’inks) will be introduced to the basics of dance through combination classes; ballet and tap. Students will improve their listening skills, ability to follow directions, coordination, and teamwork while being engaged in a fun learning environment. Themes and props are incorporated into the curriculum.

Recital: dancers perform 1 routine, Ballet or Tap at teacher’s decision

These classes are a continuation of T’inks Combo I with a more structured focus on ballet and tap. Students will further develop their skills in both ballet and tap. Technique and terminology will be introduced with a focus on body alignment and musicality.

Recital:  dancers perform both a ballet and tap routine

Dancers are introduced to ballet and jazz techniques.  Ballet is the root of all dance, teaching poise, discipline and proper body alignment.  Jazz consists of a foundation of ballet technique with turns, walks, and jumps in parallel position rather than turned out, as in ballet.  Jazz is energetic and fun, consisting of fast footwork and unique moves.

As the root of all dance, students will learn poise, discipline, and proper technique through ballet. Classes are offered in beginner to advanced levels and consist of barre and center floor work. Students are taught proper body alignment, feet and hand positioning, vocabulary and overall body placement. Placement is based on students dance experience and the discretion of the instructor.

Levels:  Beg Ballet, Ballet levels 1 – 5

Recital: dancers perform 1 ballet routine

Classes are offered from beginner to advanced levels and consist of energetic and fluid movements to current music with a fusion of funk, and ballet technique.  Students continue to develop their movements through fast footwork, isolations, contractions, turns, and jumps all done in a parallel position vs turned out in ballet. A focus is placed on full body movement and personality.   Students are encouraged to enroll in a weekly ballet class to strengthen their technique.

Levels:  Beg – Teen 

Recital: dancers perform 1 jazz routine

Musical Theatre introduces students to the songs of Broadway Musicals. Classes consist of combining dance with acting techniques and storytelling.  Foundation of ballet and jazz technique is required.  Classes offered from beginner to advanced.

Levels:  Beg – Advanced

Recital:  dancers perform 1 musical theatre routine

Classes are offered from into to hip hop to advanced levels incorporating the newest and latest trends in the hip-hop culture. Students will learn isolations, krumping, popping, cracking, and fluid dynamic movements taught to Pop and hip-hop music.  Improvisation and personality are key elements to hip-hop dance.

Levels:  Intro – Advanced

Recital:  dancers perform 1 hip hop routine

Classes are offered in beginner to intermediate levels.  Rhythm, syncopation, timing, and vocabulary are taught in class. Strongly recommended for hip hop and musical theatre dancers.  Center work and across the floor combinations are incorporated to master the sounds and techniques. A proper warm up will help students to loosen their ankles and knees.

Levels:  Beg – Advanced

Recital:  dancers perform 1 tap routine

Classes are offered for the beginner to advanced student.  Lyrical/Contemporary combines classical ballet, modern, and jazz techniques. Emotion and personal connection is incorporated in the movement leaving the audience to interpret the story being told. Placement is based on experience, student age and instructor discretion. A minimum of 2-3 years of ballet and jazz are required.  Dancers should continue to take ballet while enrolled in Lyrical or Contemporary to continue working on technique.
